The Hepburn suite was was a little bit of luxury. The staff where very friendly and breakfast was delicious
There was a bit of noise late at night and first thing in the morning but nothing to much
General atmosphere created by the staff.
Sounded like a very busy taxi rank into the early hours of sunday morning outside the bedroom window (Garbo).
Welcoming, friendly - delicious dinner.
Would have liked a cafetiere of coffee for breakfast, rather than just a cup.
Everything! The rooms were very cosy & clean, staff very friendly & helpfull, the breakfast was lovely. A very plesant stay.
ive been going since the refurb its been great but the rooms are tired now and the carpets shabby if they can get it back to where it was it will brilliant again its a great place to stay
Everything! It's a beautiful little hotel with fantastic staff who couldn't have been more helpful. The hotel has a lovely little bar with a roaring fire. Our room was delightful with a lovely comfortable bed and everything was spotlessly clean. The bathroom was modern and the shower worked well. It was a nice touch to provide coffee/tea and biscuits. The restaurant was closed in the evening but the staff recommended us some local restaurants so we walked to the local Chinese and had a fabulous meal and a nice walk through the pretty village into the bargain. Breakfast was first class (although there was no porridge on the day of our visit) but there was a wide choice of juice, cereal, toast, jams and a lovely cooked breakfast. Loved the complimentary newspapers over breakfast.
The staff were extreemly friendly and it had a good atmosphere about it.
friendly staff, comfortable, clean and modern touches to room, excellent food, good menu choices
The staff were fabulous and the food was equally as good !
Good food and friendly staff
Noise from the Blue Stoopes next door
The room had great character as did the whole hotel. It was in excellent proximity to the Peak district and set in a beautiful town. The restaurant served amazing food and the breakfast that was included was exceptional value for money. We would highly recommend this to anyone visiting the Peak district or looking for a stop on your travels.
the rooms were well appointed, comfortable beds with excellent provision of tea/coffee,liked the fact that there was bottled water provided.
I was there as part of a wedding reception, mother of the groom, the Master of Ceremonies was pleasant enough on the day and did his job well but there was no real warmth about him and in fact was almost dismissive the next day,he virtually blanked the new bride and groom and as they had spent a lot of money I think the least he could of done was to congratulate them asked them if they were happy with how things went. The food was incredible, well served, excellent waiting staff and really good food,I have been to several weddings (6 children) and that was the best wedding breakfast.
The room we stayed in was really very nice.
Walking through groups of smokers to get to the stairs to get to our room. Dog ends scattered around
Good room, great sausages, stylish, great sausages
Very very noisy in room 1 on both weekend nights... Above the bar and very noisy until about 1 am. Spoiled the stay. Also double bed too small... who has 4'6'' beds these days
It was clean and had excellent food and service. The staff were friendly and helpful which enhanced the stay. The single rooms were small but very comfortable and were serviced discretely and well. I enjoyed my stay and hope to make a return visit one day.
